Giving
Faith & Philanthropy
Your generosity makes the mission of the Diocese of Shreveport possible. Every gift—whether to a parish, school, ministry, or diocesan initiative—helps us proclaim the Gospel, celebrate the Sacraments, and serve those in need across North Louisiana.
2025 Catholic Service Appeal
The Catholic Service Appeal (CSA) is the heart of stewardship in the Diocese of Shreveport. Each year, parishes across North Louisiana join together in generosity, ensuring that the mission of the Church continues to thrive beyond what any single parish could accomplish alone.
Why the Catholic Service Appeal Matters. Your gift supports:
- Formation of Priests and Deacons – Educating and training seminarians who will serve our diocese for years to come.
- Catholic Schools & Faith Formation – Providing resources to strengthen Catholic education and catechesis.
- Charitable Outreach – Extending the Church’s care to the poor, hungry, and vulnerable in our communities.
- Diocesan Ministries & Services – Equipping parishes with guidance, resources, and leadership support.
Seminarian Burse Program
The Diocese of Shreveport is blessed with men who are answering God’s call to the priesthood. Supporting their formation is both a joy and a responsibility we share as a Catholic community. The Seminarian Burse Program makes this possible by creating a lasting source of financial support for their education and formation.
What Is a Burse? A burse is a permanent endowment fund. The principal is never spent—only the earned interest is used to help cover the cost of tuition, room, and board for our seminarians. Each contribution continues to give year after year.
Who Can Create One? Anyone can establish a burse—individuals, families, parishes, schools, organizations, or groups of friends. Many are created in memory or honor of a loved one, ensuring a lasting legacy of faith and support for future priests.
How It Works A burse may be established with an initial gift of $250 or more. Once created, anyone may add to the fund in any amount. A burse is considered complete at $10,000. At that time, a new burse may be started under the same name if desired.
Donations may be made online or by mail:

Please indicate the name of the burse in the memo line of your check.
Other Ways to Give
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth…
But store up treasures in heaven…
For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.
Matthew 6:19-21
With grateful hearts, we recognize that every blessing comes from the generous hand of God. Your support helps our diocese nurture faith, care for those in need, and continue the ministries that bring Christ’s love to our communities each day. When you share your time, talent, and treasure, you strengthen the mission we carry together as one family in Christ.
There are many meaningful ways to support our vibrant Catholic communities here in North Louisiana. You may choose from options such as donor-advised funds, retirement plan assets, personal property or real estate gifts, endowment and memorial contributions, wills and living trusts, and appreciated securities, among others. However you choose to give, please know how grateful we are for your generosity.
